show me:
The Princess and the Frog
I animated this short sequence of a princess and her frog sidekick as an experiment in storytelling and simple motion. I wanted to convey the vibe of their friendship in as few shots as possible.
Commuters
This image is of commuters riding the subway in Big City.
Rat Skate Video
I designed and animated the eponymous rat for Ivan Lagos’s skate video “RAT” that came out on Halloween 2023. This project was a creative collaboration between myself and the skater who provided art direction for the piece. The full video is linked below.
Debtworld
I pitched several concepts to WWDN, a taskforce whose mission was to inform Gen Z about the growing crisis of the American national debt. The approved idea, Debtworld, is a portrait of a place where the projected changes brought on by our astronomically increasing national debt are wrecking havoc—social security has dried up and there’s no money available for civic projects like road maintenance or disaster relief from oncoming climate change. The project unfortunately did not end up launching but the illustrations I did for it were influential in the development of my creative sensibility.
Amy Muller’s Vital Signs
Comedian Amy Muller commissioned me for her 2024 ProjectorFest entry, Vital Signs, to make the accompanying animations that would go on-screen. The 30-minute live show was based off her collection of weird and unusual signs she’d seen across America and my job was help her visualize the scenarios that might’ve led up to their installations. I had so much fun with this project!
Science Friday Cannavan
I was approached by digital producer Emma Lee Gometz to create an editorial illustration to accompany a news article they were writing on a mobile cannabis research van. The objective of my design was to visualize how the van allowed researchers to “cut through the red tape” and make groundbreaking scientific discoveries faster, while also emphasizing the positive relationship between cannabis and science.
Animals Holding Their Babies
While watching a nature documentary about elephants, I noticed that not all animals can anatomically pick up and hold their babies—to carry them while they’re on the move, to protect them from danger, or even just to cuddle with them. This observation prompted an illo series consisting of four animals who cannot hold their babies, holding their babies in tender embraces.
Sign of the Dog
I ran this illustration series for three weeks on my blog, Enrichment Activities, titled Sign of the Dog. It features three illustrations of various dogs posing with signs that refer to them.
Alphaholics Anonymous Podcast
I was commissioned by a finance podcast to create cover art depicting “Wall Street Chaos.” The podcast never ended up getting launched but this was still a fun prompt to respond to and I think the illustration turned out really cute.
